Winter Has Arrived, So Has The CoronaVirus
So finally the verdict is out, it’s out in the open officially. Corona Virus is not a mild seasonal flu and has not receded into oblivion after the conclusion of American Presidential Elections. Science is not a conspiracy and masks and similar personal hygiene & protection equipments are essential to battle the invisible enemy in the air and render it redundant.
Now that this has already been established, let’s welcome the onset of the chill in the air and the month of December, when warmth love & care are essential for survival. A lot of us are not used to the norms of surviving with a virus in the air and are not very comfortable with wearing masks or sanitizing their hands regularly because these are new age concepts.
But alienating that section of society and leaving them to the mercy of the Lord is failing ourselves as a nation and inclusive community. With winter announcing its arrival and a cold chilly wind floating all around, let us not allow the cold to seep into our hearts and turn into stone.
Let us embrace this battle together as a single force of humanity, helping the old and the unable to access certified PPE essentials and teach them to wear it correctly so that they can move around freely. With winter setting in, the festive mood which is usually already in the air, is somewhat dampened due the effect of the Corona Virus. However the festive cheer can still prevail, a little differently this time around by helping those that need our help the most. That section of society who are either old and unable or lonely or without the ability to access protective equipment can be extended a helping hand by the stronger and more able people and made to feel that they too are integral part of the community and nation.
Let’s admit it Christmas has always been an occasion for extravagance and festivities every year and why not? It’s an excellent way to bring in the end of the year and spend time with loved ones. But this time around, with death and despair looming around at every corner, can we not pledge to sacrifice our fun & frolic just once for the greater good. The COVID 19 situation has left a lot of people without a livelihood and scarcity & depravity are sheer common. In such a situation making helpless people feel more helpless at their pitiable condition, somehow, just does not seem the way the Creator would want it to be.
So simple acts of kindness replacing splurging on lavish parties, is the need of the hour and this blog is a shout out to all the kindred souls who believe in doing things with a good heart. And believe me when you have helped one person at the cost of sacrificing your personal indulgences, the smile that you bring on their face with your act of kindness has the same serotonin feeling albeit with a longer lasting effect. Together we can win this war against the invisible enemy, and of course with a little love, kindness, warmth and #WearAMask & #BeWiseSanitize. Happy December to everyone!! Stay Safe, Stay protected.
